Benefits of buying a luxury second hand watch
There are many benefits of buying a luxury second hand watch rather than a brand new one.
You avoid depreciation of the value - Much like a car, as soon as you buy a brand new watch there is an instant depreciation. It is no longer "new" and if you need to resell it right away, you could be down 20% of the value automatically. Since a second hand watch isn't new, you are paying a cheaper price already.
Get more bang for your buck - As above, since you are buying a pre-owned watch, you will not have to pay top retail dollar. This means higher quality luxury watches that may have been out of reach suddenly come into your price range.
Get a unique timepiece - Most new watches will have high supplies and if they are the latest hot design, lots of people will be wearing them! The older they become, the scarcer they become. So a second hand watch will likely be a lot more unique. You also get the choice of buying across a range of vintages, and find one that suits your exact tastes.
The watch might go up in value - If you choose an elegant luxury watch, it's possible it may increase in value over time. If you know what to look for in terms of characteristics, you can actually make money by investing in watches.
